Project: Spectrum Health Gynecological Oncology
Design Firm: Tower Pinkster – Kalamazoo
Lighting Designer: Lentz Becraft
This design solution encompassed an existing white box space on the sixth floor of the Lemmon Holton Cancer Pavilion. With beautiful views of the Butterworth campus and downtown Grand Rapids, the chemotherapy treatment area was designed to take advantage of the view. The design offers support and function to the perimeter of the space and provides a flexible seating/treatment area in the center. With the use of movable furniture, the patient experience can be either private or as open to allow this small community of patients to communicate with each other during treatment. Exam rooms are located in the center of the space and utilize staff work avenues to provide flexibility in staff and patient scheduling.
The lighting was chosen and designed to compliment the architectures desire for the ultimate in patient and staff comfort. Finelite HP4 fixtures ring the entrance doors which open up to a spacious waiting and receiving area complimented with the Clean Scene Sky fixtures from Kenall.
